Overview

Gulnaz T. Donahue is an Associate Attorney in the Trademarks and Copyrights Department of The Nath Law Group.

Ms. Donahue’s practice involves all aspects of trademark, unfair competition and copyright law. She counsels clients on the availability and registration of trademarks, assists clients in securing trademark registrations in the U.S. and throughout the world, advises clients on policing and enforcement matters, and litigates cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Ms. Donahue received her J.D. degree, from the Handong International Law School in 2005, in Pohang, Korea. At the Kyrgyz State National University, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Ms. Donahue was awarded a B.A. degree in English in 1999, and a M.A. degree in Linguistics, with honors, in 2000. During law school, Ms. Donahue participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and was awarded the second place in national rounds. She was also active in the Regional Legal Research Team, which focused on the importance of the Rule of Law.

Prior to entering law school, Ms. Donahue worked for Kim and John PLLC in Seoul, Korea, where she launched and lead the project on human trafficking and child prostitution in South East Asian and Middle Eastern countries. She has also worked for Ala-Too Ashari law firm based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where she was involved in coordinating governmental projects such as “Attraction of Foreign Investments” and assisted in publishing articles on Judicial reform, legal profession and freedom of religion.

Ms. Donahue is admitted to practice before the Bar of the State of Tennessee and is a member of American Bar Association, American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and Advocates International. Ms. Donahue is also an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and presently serves on INTA's Limits on Trademark Rights Subcommittee.

Ms. Donahue is fluent in Kyrgyz, Russian and English. She is conversant in Turkish and French. Ms. Donahue is an avid runner and enjoys all outdoor activities including hiking, camping, and backpacking.
