H. DAVID STARR is an Associate Attorney managing
the Trademark Department of
The Nath Law Group.
Mr.
Starr’s practice involves all aspects of trademark, unfair
competition and copyright law. He counsels clients on the
availability and registration of trademarks, assists clients in
securing trademark registrations in the U.S. and throughout the
world, advises clients on policing and enforcement matters, and
argues cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s
Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Mr. Starr has also participated in significant IP litigation
matters before federal trial and appellate courts.
Mr. Starr received his J.D. degree, with honors,
from the George Washington University Law School in 1998, and his
B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Maryland in 1993.
During law school, Mr. Starr interned in the Office of the General
Counsel at the United States Copyright Office, and at the Recording
Industry Association of America where he assisted with governmental
relations and anti-piracy/copyright enforcement matters.
Mr. Starr’s articles on legal developments in
intellectual property law have been featured in the BNA Patent,
Trademark and Copyright Journal and, the Copyright & New
Media Newsletter. He
also regularly contributed to his previous firm’s IP Newsletter.
Mr. Starr is an active member of the Intellectual
Property Section of the District of Columbia Bar, and presently
serves on the Section’s Steering Committee.
Mr. Starr previously served as the Section’s Trademark
Committee Chair and Copyright Committee Vice-Chair.
He is also an active member of the International Trademark
Association (INTA), and presently serves on INTA’s Trade Dress
Image Library Subcommittee. Finally,
Mr. Starr has been a featured speaker at programs sponsored by the
District of Columbia Bar’s Intellectual Property Section, the DC
Independent Film Festival, Washington Area Music Association,
Yes!Circle, and George Washington University.
Mr.
Starr is admitted to practice before the Bars of the District of Columbia and the
State of Maryland. |
