HARKINS is an Associate Attorney in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical
and Biotechnology Department of
The Nath Law Group.
Ms.
Harkins practice areas include U.S. and international patent
prosecution and managing patent portfolios for pharmaceutical
companies.
Ms. Harkins’ specialties include developing strategies for
obtaining patent rights directed to pharmaceutical formulations and
drug delivery systems in crowded technology areas through freedom to
operate and patentability analyses, as well as application drafting
and prosecution.
Ms. Harkins is also experienced in patent interference
proceedings and assisting with European Opposition practice.
Ms. Harkins is proficient in the following technical areas:
nutritional, nutraceuticals, vitamins, supplements, and
“design-arounds” for pharmaceutical formulations.
Ms.
Harkins received her J.D. degree from Catholic University in 1998.
While in law school, Ms. Harkins was a contributing member of
the CommLaw Conspectus communications and technology journal
(1996-1998) and an officer in Phi Delta Phi (1997). She received a
B.A. degree in English, from Virginia Commonwealth University in
1992, where she completed course work in pre-med biological
sciences.
Ms. Harkins is
admitted to practice before the Bar of the State of Maryland, and is
registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. |
